Skiing with children
The key is to be organized!
The Kit
Buy what you need before
your arrive at the slopes. The prices at the ski slopes can be very high and in
smaller resorts extras are very limited
Make sure your children
stay warm ... warm means happy!
Good socks, gloves and we suggest
shellaclava for under helmets are the basics to keeping warm.
Après Ski
Have fun; use the slopes
not just for skiing but tobogganing and snowballing
Childcare
Look for a centre that has staff
that speak your language, it will make your child feel more comfortable.
At most reports or hotels you can arrange buggy hire. Check it out before you go as these will be suitable for the snowy conditions and if you only need it on the odd occasion it saves you taking yours.
Ski School Basics
If your children are going
to ski school make sure the staff speak your language.
Check the group sizes, some
take to many children and they end up spending half the day waiting for others.
Get them into the correct
level group. To low and they will be hanging around to advanced and they will
be disheartened.
At the end of the week
there is normally a race at most Europe resorts. This can be great fun and chance for the children to
show you their new skills. It’s a great way to finish the week.
Equipment Hire
Book in advance for the
best deals. Try out Snowbrainer with over 600 ski shops they are sure to be able to help
At Skiweb we encourage everyone to wear helmets old and young! At some resorts it is compulsory but don’t worry you can hire helmets.
Make it a part of your kit there are some great colours to chose from or you could jazzy them up by using a helmet cover. Here's one we love!
Booking your ski holiday
Check out this site "Ski Famille" it has everything to make it easy for you to book your family
ski trip. Great locations, in house
nannies and equipment hire.
